Knox has one of the best small departments in the country, as shown by student placements, publication productivity, grant activity, and off-campus presentations. We average about 6 majors per year, which is right at the national average for ALL physics departments. Roughly one third of our majors are in the 3-2 Engineering program. The key feature at Knox is that students get the best of both worlds: top-notch facilities and research opportunities together with access to faculty and equipment afforded by our small size.
