Knox College to celebrate Latino Pride Week
Lo Nuestro, a student group at Knox College, will mark Latino Pride Week April
5-10 with several public events celebrating the theme "The Richness of Latino
Life" on the Knox campus in Galesburg, Illinois.
- Monday, April 5. Lecture: "Maximizing and Embracing Our
Commonalities," by Jimmy Cabrera, a motivational speaker from Houston. 8:00
p.m. Kresge Recital Hall, Ford Center for Fine Arts. Free.
- Tuesday, April 6. Literary Forum. Discussion of Latino
literature, led by Magali Roy-Fequiere, assistant professor of women's studies
at Knox College. 7:00 p.m. Gizmo, Seymour Union. Free.
- Wednesday, April 7. Arts and Crafts Workshop. Presented by the
students in Lo Nuestro. 7:00 p.m. Casa Latina, 643 South West Street,
Galesburg. Free.
- Thursday, April 8. Dance Lessons. Various Latin styles,
presented by the students in Lo Nuestro. 7:00 p.m. Auxiliary Gym. Free.
- Friday, April 9. Latino Dance. 9:00 p.m.-1:00 a.m. Gizmo
patio. Free.
- Saturday, April 10. Performance: Folkloric Dance Troupe. 6:00
p.m. Kresge Recital Hall, Ford Center for Fine Arts. Free.
- Saturday, April 10. Dinner: Hosted by the students of Lo
Nuestro. 7:00 p.m. Casa Latina, 643 South West Street. Tickets are $4 and are

Founded in 1837, Knox is an independent, four-year, liberal arts college,
located in Galesburg, Illinois, with 1,100 students from 42 states and 33
nations. Knox's "Old Main," a National Historic Landmark, is the only building
