Improv Troupe to Perform Friday and Saturday at Knox College
Actor, screenwriter and former Saturday Night Live cast member Tim Kazurinsky
will join the Knox College Improv Troupe for an improvisational theatre
performance at 7 p.m., Saturday, April 24, on the Knox campus in Galesburg,
Illinois. The performance is free and open to the public in Studio Theatre, Ford Center for the Fine Arts.
Kazurinsky was a member of the Saturday Night Live cast from 1981 to 1984. He
also has acted with the famed Second City theatre company in Chicago, and in a
dozen feature films, including three Police Academy movies, Neighbors, My
Bodyguard, Continental Divide, and About Last Night, for which he also wrote
the screenplay.
Members of the Knox College Improv Troupe are Tim Ballard, Mitch Forney,
Jeremy Gillissen, Desirée Maltbia, Julie Marsh, Shannon Martin, Derek
Papp, Jason Powell, Amy Rieckelman, Jessica Shaffer, and Ralph Sledge, with
manager Rachel Sypniewski.
Founded in 1837, Knox is an independent, four-year, liberal arts college,
located in Galesburg, Illinois, with 1,100 students from 42 states and 33
nations. Knox's "Old Main," a National Historic Landmark, is the only building
remaining from the 1858 Lincoln-Douglas debates.
