Mimes T. Daniel and Laurie Willets to Perform
"Structures on Silence" at Knox College, Jan. 10

Mimes T. Daniel and Laurie Willets will perform, "Structures on Silence," at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 10 at Harbach Theatre, Ford Center for the Fine Arts, at Knox College, Galesburg, IL. The performers will also hold a mime workshop at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 10, at Harbach Theatre. Both events are free and open to the public.

Written and choreographed by Daniel, "Structures on Silence" combines contemporary humor with the format of a traditional vaudeville show.

Daniel recently celebrated his 20th season as a creator, choreographer, and performer of mime. A native of Chicago, he received his formal training in mime in Paris, where he studied with Marcel Marceau, Pierre Verry and Etienne Decroux. Daniel has collaborated with major orchestras, including eight projects with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. He also has developed plays for children, television programs and instructional videos and choreographed a film for MGM.

Willets, a graduate of Illinois State University, studied with Daniel and has appeared in many of his productions. She also creates and performs her own mime productions.

The performance is sponsored by the Knox College Department of Theatre and Dance, Office of the Dean of the College, and Lectures and Concerts Committee.

Founded in 1837, Knox is an independent, four-year, liberal arts college, located in Galesburg, Illinois, with 1,100 students from 42 states and 33 nations. Knox's "Old Main," a National Historic Landmark, is the only building remaining from the 1858 Lincoln-Douglas debates.
