"Low brass instruments give a distinctive soundTubaChristmas is a great experience for brass musicians and always well-received by listeners, when they hear the unique sound that the low brass instruments can achieve," Garlock said.

A member of the Knox faculty since 1990, Garlock has led the College's jazz ensembles to several performance awards. He has played on more than 100 jazz recording sessions and has performed with the Knox-Galesburg Symphony and the Peoria and Quad Cities symphonies.

Founded in 1837, Knox is an independent, four-year, liberal arts college in Galesburg, Illinois, with 1,100 students from 44 states and 32 nations. Knox's "Old Main," a National Historic Landmark, is the only building remaining from the 1858 Lincoln-Douglas debates.
