Tracy Wagner, formerly vice president for finance and auxiliary services at the University of Dubuque, has been named vice president for finance and treasurer of Knox College, Galesburg, Illinois. Wagner begins her duties at Knox on September 1.
"I am pleased to announce the appointment of Tracy Wagner as vice president for finance," said Knox College President Rick Nahm. "We welcome Tracy and her husband and two children to the community and look forward to their arrival."
Wagner was an accountant at KPMG Peat Marwick in Minneapolis from 1986 until 1990, when she was named internal auditor at the University of Dubuque. She was appointed controller at Dubuque in November 1990 and vice president in 1993.
Wagner holds bachelor's degrees in economics and accounting from the University of Northern Iowa and a master's in business administration from the University of Dubuque. She has served as treasurer of the Dubuque Area Chamber of Commerce and as conference co-coordinator for Future Business Leaders of America. she belongs to the Iowa Society of Certified Public Accountants and the National Association of College and University Business Officers.
Wagner succeeds Ira Goldberg, who resigned in July to accept a position at the Argonne National Laboratory, where he was a senior financial analyst before coming to Knox in 1995.
Founded in 1837, Knox is an independent, four-year, liberal arts college with 1,100 students from 42 states and 33 nations. Knox's "Old Main," a National Historic Landmark, is the only building remaining from the 1858 Lincoln-Douglas debates.
