Campus Group to Mark Earth Day with
Public Reading, April 22 at Knox College

Knox College's Caxton Club will celebrate Earth Day 1997 with a free, public reading at 4 p.m., Tuesday, April 22. Knox faculty and students will read excerpts from their favorite nature writers. Members of the public are invited to read their own brief excerpts from nature writers. The event will be held on the lawn of Knox's Old Main. In case of inclement, it will be held in the Lincoln Room, Seymour Union.

The Caxton Club is a campus organization at Knox that sponsors readings and lectures in literature, the arts and the humanities.

Founded in 1837, Knox is an independent, four-year, liberal arts college, located in Galesburg, Illinois, with 1,100 students from 42 states and 33 nations. Knox's "Old Main," a National Historic Landmark, is the only building remaining from the 1858 Lincoln-Douglas debates.
