Crystle Clark, director of the Bishop Hill Heritage Museum, will give an informal talk, "Directing the Small, Non-Profit Museum," at 4 p.m., Friday, Jan. 31, in Room 303 of Davis Hall at Knox College.
Clark has worked at the Bishop Hill Heritage Museum since graduating from Knox College in 1995. She has had experience in all areas of museum work, including archives and exhibits, as well as management. Originally from Gilson, she received College Honors in 1995 for a research project conducted at Knox, "Bishop Hill: A Dwelling Place for God's People." The project was a study of the architecture of Bishop Hill, the former Swedish utopian colony in Henry County, Illinois.
Founded in 1837, Knox is an independent, four-year, liberal arts college, located in Galesburg, Illinois, with 1,100 students from 42 states and 33 nations. Knox's "Old Main," a National Historic Landmark, is the only building remaining from the 1858 Lincoln-Douglas debates.
