Feminist author Cherríe Moraga To Speak

at Knox College April 3

Cherríe Moraga will present a poetry reading of her works at 4 p.m., Thursday, April 3 in the Common Room, Old Main. The same day Moraga will also present the talk "Sour Grapes, Writing and Resistance" at 7 p.m. in Kresge Recital Hall, Ford Center for Fine Arts, Knox College. These events are free and open to the public.

Centered in San Francisco, Moraga has co-authored This Bridge Called my Back: Writings by Radical Feminists of Color, contributed to Cuentos: Stories by Latinas, authored Loving in the War Years, and has written several plays. A reception will follow the evening talk. Her work has been widely acclaimed by feminist, Latino and literary communities since her co-authoring of This Bridge Called my Back.

Founded in 1837, Knox is an independent, four-year, liberal arts college, located in Galesburg, Illinois, with 1,100 students from 42 states and 33 nations. Knox's "Old Main," a National Historic Landmark, is the only building remaining from the 1858 Lincoln-Douglas debates.
