CORRECTION: The date of the performance is May 18, not May 11. The original release had the correct date in the headline, but an incorrect date in the lead sentence.

The Knox College Chamber Singers will present the comic oratorio, Oedipus Tex, by PDQ Bach, at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 18, Kresge Recital Hall, Ford Center for the Fine Arts, Knox College. The concert is free and open to the public.

The oratorio, a contemporary comic parody on the story of Oedipus Rex, will feature soloists from the Chamber Singers and a small chamber orchestra. The ensemble will also perform several jazz tunes, including Isn't it Romantic and Route 66. The Chamber Singers are directed by Timothy Reynolds.

Founded in 1837, Knox is an independent, four-year, liberal arts college, located in Galesburg, Illinois, with 1,100 students from 42 states and 33 nations. Knox's "Old Main," a National Historic Landmark, is the only building remaining from the 1858 Lincoln-Douglas debates.
