GALESBURG -- A panel discussion on U.S. policy toward Iraq will be held at 7 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 20, in Kresge Hall, Ford Center for the Fine Arts, Knox College, Galesburg, Illinois. The event is free and open to the public.
Four Knox College faculty members will give short presentations, followed by discussion and audience questions. The presenters are Roy Andersen, Timme Processor of Economics, "Three Aspects of Iraqi Society"; Robert Seibert, Murphy Professor of Political Science, "Five Good Reasons Not to Attack Iraq"; Sue Hulett, professor of political science, "Realism, Security and Peace"; and Steve Cohn, associate professor of economics, "Lessons from Vietnam."
Other panelists will include Sean Dowdy, a sophomore from Morrisonville, Illinois; Tom Walton, a senior history major from Shelby Township, Michigan; and Michael Schneider, associate professor of history.
Founded in 1837, Knox is a national liberal arts college in Galesburg, Illinois, with students from 48 states and 40 nations. Knox's "Old Main" is a National Historic Landmark and the only building remaining from the 1858 Lincoln-Douglas debates.
