GALESBURG -- The Knox College Choir, directed by Laura Lane, professor of music, will perform at 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 3, in Kresge Hall, Ford Center for the Fine Arts, Galesburg, Illinois. The concert is free and open to the public.
The choir will perform the world premiere of "Arirang" by In-Sil Yoo. A visiting professor of music at Knox in 2001-2002, Yoo currently teaches at Indiana University.

"Sing all ye joyful" by Ruth Watson Henderson, with text drawn from "The Hobbit," by J.R.R. tolkein, will feature the choir's accompanist Amber Clark.
The program also includes classical works by Tomas Luis de Victoria, Jan Sweelinck, as well as inspirational pieces by American composers Aaron Copland and David Dickau.
Lane is Director of Choral Activities and Chair of the Music Department at Knox College. She is also the founder and director of Nova Singers, a professional vocal group.
Founded in 1837, Knox is a national liberal arts college in Galesburg, Illinois, with students from 48 states and 40 nations. Knox's "Old Main" is a National Historic Landmark and the only building remaining from the 1858 Lincoln-Douglas debates.
