Robin Behn, associate professor of English at the University of Alabama, will read from her poetry Thursday, April 25, at 7:00 p.m., in the Common Room, Old Main, Knox College.
Behn is Director of the Master's Degree Program in Creative Writing at the University of Alabama. She also serves on the faculty of the Master's Program in Creative Writing at Vermont College. A former member of the Knox College faculty, Behn has published several award winning books of poetry including "Paper Bird" and "The Red Hour," and is the co-editor of "The Practice of Poetry: Writing Exercises from Poets Who Teach." Her work has appeared in many literary journals.
Behn has received fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, the state arts councils of Illinois and Alabama, and the New England Review narrative poetry prize. She is a graduate of Oberlin College, the University of Missouri-Columbia, and The University of Iowa.
