TubaChristmas 2001, Dec 2

Galesburg's eleventh annual TubaChristmas, a free concert of holiday music for low brass instruments, will be presented Sunday, Dec. 2 at 12 noon in the Orpheum Theatre, 57 S. Kellogg Street.

The holiday concert will feature an ensemble of more than forty low brass musicians — tubas, euphoniums and baritones — directed by Scott Garlock, Associate Professor of Music at Knox College.

Any interested low brass musicians are invited to participate and may contact Garlock at 309-341-7265 or via email to sgarlock@knox.edu. Registration and rehearsal begin at 10 a.m. on the day of the concert.

Garlock has taught at Knox since 1990 and has led the College's jazz ensemble to several performance awards. He has played on more than 100 jazz recording sessions and has performed with the Knox-Galesburg Symphony, as well the Peoria and Quad Cities symphonies.
