The revue is written and directed by Elizabeth Carlin Metz, associate professor of theatre at Knox College, based on a concept by Dianne Crowell, professor emerita at Roger Williams University. The musical director is Kurt Killam. Jim Clark, visiting instructor in theatre, designed sets and lighting. Costumes were designed by Margo Shively, resident costumer for the Knox theatre department.

Choreography was designed by Katy Biver, a senior from Swansea, Illinois. The voice coach was Mara Mindell, a cast member and post-baccalaureate student from Dallas, Texas. The stage manager is Krista Reeves, a first-year student from Loveland, Colorado.

"The cast is a very talented group of students, many of whom have had extensive musical theatre experience in high school," Metz said. "Musical theatre is no longer just a spectacle with songs. Since the late 1960s, musicals have featured scores that call for more operatic voices, and lyrics that deal with social issues."

"The best revues have a 'mini play,' sometimes with ad-lib dialogue, that builds relationships between the songs and creates an emotional momentum," Metz said. "Give My Regards to Broadway" is presented in two acts: the first depicts a group of aspiring actors auditioning for parts in a Broadway show. The second act is presented as the show's opening night.

Make-up session before publicity photos

In addition to teaching and directing theatre at Knox, Metz has directed professional theatre in Chicago and musical theatre at Roger Williams University, where she earned her undergraduate degree. Metz earned her MFA at Temple University and has been a member of the Knox faculty since 1994.
