Prior to joining Lands' End, Holmes was a product publicity specialist at Corning Glass Works in Corning, New York; an account executive at two public relations agencies in Providence, Rhode Island; and manager of public relations and consumer affairs for Frito-Lay in Plano, Texas. Holmes is a graduate of Cornell University.

"Beverly brings to Knox College extensive experience in all dimensions of communication and constituent relations," said Brian S. Williams, Vice President for Advancement. "This experience, in combination with her knowledge of Knox College and the Galesburg area, will enhance our fundraising efforts, both locally and nationally."

Holmes is the daughter of Bernice Holmes and the late Vincent Holmes of Wataga, Illinois. She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1974.

Founded in 1837, Knox is a national liberal arts college in Galesburg, Illinois, with students from 47 states and 42 nations. Knox is ranked number one in academic reputation among liberal arts colleges in Illlinois, according to the US News & World Report 2002 annual college rankings.
