National Shakespeare Company to Perform Nov. 7

As You Like It - National Shakespeare Company

The National Shakespeare Company will perform Shakespeare's comedy "As You Like It, at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 7, in Harbach Theatre, Ford Center for the Fine Arts, Knox College, Galesburg, Illinois. The performance is free.

"As You Like It" is a complex romantic comedy that features disguises and changes in identity, and a vivid contrast between a status-conscious urban society and a forest in which a person's true character is revealed.

The National Shakespeare Company is the oldest professional touring company in the United States. Based in New York City, the company travels 35,000 miles annually, performing and conducting acting workshops throughout the U.S.

Founded in 1837, Knox is a national liberal arts college in Galesburg, Illinois, with students from 47 states and 41 nations. Knox's "Old Main" is a National Historic Landmark and the only building remaining from the 1858 Lincoln-Douglas debates.
