Poet Roger Weingarten, Oct. 12 at Knox College

Poet Roger Weingarten will read from his own works at 4 p.m., Friday, October 12, in the Common Room, Old Main, Knox College, Galesburg, Illinois. The reading is free and open to the public.

Weingarten is the author of eight volumes of poetry including "Shadow Shadow", "Infant Bonds of Joy," and "Ghost Wrestling." His poems and essays have appeared in "American Poetry Review," "Poetry," "The New Yorker," "The New Republic," "Poetry East," "The Kenyon Review," and many other journals. Weingarten has won an NEA Fellowship and an Ingram Merrill Award in Literature.

Weingarten is the founder and senior professor in the master's program in writing at Vermont College, where he also directs the Post-Graduate Writers Conference. He is the editor of the Invisible Cities Press poetry series, co-editor of five poetry anthologies, including "New American Poets of the '90s", and the forthcoming "Poets of the New Century."

His volume of poetry, "Ghost Writing: Haunted Tales by Contemporary Writers," is coming out in paperback this month, and he is currently completing a collection entitled "Into The Mouth of The Rat: New and Selected" and "Manthology: Poems of the Male Experience."
