Kimberly M. Pokin, soprano, will give a voice recital at 1 p.m., Sunday, May 13 in Kresge Recital Hall, Ford Center for the Fine Arts, Knox College, Galesburg, IL. The recital is free and open to the public.
The program will include French and English art songs as well as several arias, featuring composers such as Delibes, Debussy, Vaughan Williams and Donizetti. The accompanist is Timothy Pahel, piano.
Pokin graduated from Knox in 1999 with a BA in English writing. For the past two years she has studied voice and performed with the Nova Singers, directed by Laura Lane, associate professor of music at Knox. Pokin plans to pursue a master's degree in voice performance this fall.
Founded in 1837, Knox is an independent, four-year, liberal arts college in Galesburg, Illinois, with 1,220 students from 47 states and 41 nations. Knox's "Old Main" is a National Historic Landmark and the only building remaining from the 1858 Lincoln-Douglas debates.
