A display of 17th-Century prints will be on exhibit from May 23 through August 15 on the second floor of Knox College's Seymour Library. The exhibit is free and open to the public during regular library hours. An opening reception will be held at 4 p.m., Wednesday, May 23.
The exhibit, "Outside the Shadow of Rembrandt: Selected 17th Century Prints from the Famulener and Wilson Collections," was researched and organized by students in the spring term class, Baroque Art and Architecture. The works are selected from Knox College's own Special Collections and Archives. The exhibit catalog was edited by Gregory Gilbert, assistant professor of art, who taught the class.
Founded in 1837, Knox is an independent, four-year, liberal arts college in Galesburg, Illinois, with 1,220 students from 47 states and 41 nations. Knox's "Old Main" is a National Historic Landmark and the only building remaining from the 1858 Lincoln-Douglas debates.
