For the 8th year in a row, the Knox College Jazz Ensemble has won the college - big band division at the WIU Jazz Festival. The festival was held Feb. 16 at Western Illinois University in Macomb. The Knox Jazz Combo was second in its division.
Guitarist Andy Crawford was voted the outstanding soloist for the festival. Other Knox students receiving soloist awards were Bryan Osborne, Nate Wiswall, Will Boast and John Doyle.

Founded in 1837, Knox is an independent, four-year, liberal arts college in Galesburg, Illinois, with 1,220 students from 47 states and 41 nations. Knox's "Old Main," a National Historic Landmark, is the only building remaining from the 1858 Lincoln-Douglas debates.
