Bell Ensemble Concert, May 13

Great Bells of Fire, a student hand-bell ensemble at Knox College will perform at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, May 13 in Kresge Hall, Ford Center for the Fine Arts, Knox College, Galesburg IL. The concert is free and open to the public.

Jeff Schoonover directs the ensemble. They will perform various celebration and festival pieces incorporating techniques, such as thumb damping and martelotting. The ringers are Laura Pilcher, Susie Stone, Kara Benton, Allison Looney, Miriam Timmer, Ed Jones, Kristin Miserocci, Jason Endress, and Mara Mindell.

Founded in 1837, Knox is an independent, four-year, liberal arts college in Galesburg, Illinois, with 1,220 students from 47 states and 41 nations. Knox's "Old Main" is a National Historic Landmark and the only building remaining from the 1858 Lincoln-Douglas debates.
