Rock band "Apples in Stereo" to perform at Knox, May 20

The rock band "Apples in Stereo" will perform at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, May 20, in the Gizmo, Seymour Union, Knox College, Galesburg, Illinois. The band "Driver of the Year" will also perform. The concert is free and open to the public.

The group has won critical praise for its recordings, including "The Discovery of a World Inside the Moone." Robert Schneider, the band's singer and songwriter, describes the group's sound as "somewhere between the Beach Boys, Byrds, Zombies, and Velvet Underground -- natural sounding, spaced-out, and entirely harmonious."

Founded in 1837, Knox is an independent, four-year, liberal arts college in Galesburg, Illinois, with 1,220 students from 47 states and 41 nations. Knox's "Old Main" is a National Historic Landmark and the only building remaining from the 1858 Lincoln-Douglas debates.
