Poet Billy Collins will give a reading at 4:00 p.m., Friday, Nov. 10, in the Common Room, Old Main, Knox College, Galesburg, Illinois.
Collins has been described by The New York Times as the "most popular poet in America." He has written six books of poetry and received numerous awards from Poetry magazine. He is the recipient of fellowships from the New York Foundation for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
Founded in 1837, Knox is an independent, four-year, liberal arts college in Galesburg, Illinois, with 1,220 students from 47 states and 41 nations. Knox's "Old Main" is a National Historic Landmark and the only building remaining from the 1858 Lincoln-Douglas debates.
