Mission Statement

Common Ground (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, and Ally Group) works to eradicate homophobia and heterosexism from the Knox Community by bringing together people of various sexual orientations - homosexual, bisexual, heterosexual, transgender - who share the common interest of promoting awareness of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender concerns through educational and social activities. Common Ground prides itself on including students, faculty, and staff of all sexuallities. Our activities have included speakers, National Coming Out Day celebrations, AIDS Awareness Week, Gay Pride Week, campus-wide dances, open forums, and informal discussions.
