Catch follows a blind submissions process. All work must be submitted
with a cover sheet. To ensure that only work from Knox students and recent
alumni is included, we cannot accept anonymous submissions. The Organizational
Editor is responsible for assigning a code to each submission. The Organizational
Editor has no voice in decisions to accept or reject any given piece. Section
Editors, Editors-in-Chief, and the Faculty Advisor receive the submission
only after it has been made anonymous by the Organizational Editor. All
editorial decisions are made at meetings between the Faculty Advisor, Editors-in-Chief,
and Section Editors. Section Editors are allowed to submit one creative
piece to the section over which they have editorial influence, and one piece
to another section. Acceptance or rejection of a Section Editor’s piece
within their own section is determined by the Editors-in-Chief and the Faculty
Advisor. Editors-in-Chief are not allowed to submit creative work. In all
cases we attempt to preserve anonymity throughout the selection process;
however, there is no way to guarantee 100% blind submissions. Therefore,
professional discretion is upheld at all times and all submissions are treated
as anonymous. All submissions are acknowledged with acceptance or rejection
letters as promptly as possible.
Knox College is an undergraduate liberal
arts institution with approximately 1,300 students.
